About Us

The Davidson County Democratic Party exists at the local level to promote the national, state and local interests, policies and programs of the Democratic National Committee and the Tennessee Democratic Party.

The Davidson County Democratic Executive Committee is the governing body and composed of two people of different genders elected from each of the 35 Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County Councilmanic districts at the regular biennial Democratic primary held in accordance with Section 1816 of the Metropolitan Charter and Private Act of the Tennessee State Legislature concerning such primary.

The executive committee may also appoint at-large committee members (each an “appointed committee member of that district” and together “appointed at-large committee members”) equal to the number of unfilled executive committee seats after each biennial election and an additional five seats for a total of 75 members. At no time will the full executive committee membership exceed 75 members.

Standing Committees

This Committee shall oversee the Party’s efforts to raise and sustain the financial resources necessary to support its operations and electoral activities. The Committee shall plan and coordinate fundraising events, develop and manage the Party’s membership and recurring donor program, and cultivate and maintain relationships with donors. The Committee shall also ensure proper financial compliance and reporting in coordination with the Party’s officers and staff, and support strategies that strengthen and expand the Party’s fundraising capacity.

STRATEGIC FUNDRAISING

This Committee shall oversee the Party’s efforts to expand, mobilize, and engage the Democratic electorate in Davidson County. The Committee shall coordinate traditional voter contact activities such as canvassing, phone banking, and text outreach; recruit and train volunteers; organize Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) efforts; and lead voter registration initiatives. It shall also develop and maintain a precinct captain program to strengthen neighborhood-level organizing, oversee the maintenance and management of voter data used for outreach, and coordinate digital organizing strategies to support voter engagement and turnout.

VOTER ENGAGEMENT

This Committee shall oversee and coordinate all communications from the Davidson County Democratic Party to the public. The Committee shall manage the Party’s website, email campaigns, and social media platforms, and shall lead public relations efforts, including securing and managing earned media. The Committee shall be responsible for developing and distributing communications across all appropriate platforms, including digital and print media, to effectively share the Party’s message, promote its activities, and engage the public.

COMMUNICATIONS

This Committee shall be composed of the five (5) at-large officers, the Immediate-Past Chair, and three (3) standing committee chairs. This Committee shall be chaired by the Chair of the Executive Committee and shall meet regularly for the purpose of planning agendas and discussing the implementation of Executive Committee decisions and projects.
